After The Rain
Yesterday afternoon we had rain – and thunder. Then quiet. And a bit of sun peeking through for a time. Today the sun is shining. There is a message to my heart in this. Plans were in place for our daughter and her four children to move into a new-to-them home today after living with us for a few months. Those plans fell through. Yesterday it was clear that the planned move today was not going to happen. In the middle of the disappointment there is hope. After yesterday’s rain, the sun came through. I know that the light of God’s grace and love will shine through the ‘rain’ of these days for them.
We don't know what the future holds for them but we do know that a lot of people have been praying for them and God is still in control. He knows what's best for us. Always. That can be hard to comprehend in the middle of it all. While going through a similar situation in our lives many years ago, I walked through the middle of a store and my attention was drawn to a magnet on display. On that magnet - that now hangs on my refrigerator! - this verse: ‘For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’ (Jeremiah 29:11)
His plans are always right. His timing never wrong. There are no accidents with Him. Even though it seems someone else may ‘mess up’ the plan, He is still in control. He brings the rain – He brings the sun. The sun will shine again. I have no doubt!

Dramatic skies!
ReplyDeleteIn every cloud there is a rainbow. Sometimes, though, those rainbows are elusive and difficult to see! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteIsn't the light after an Autumn rain just gorgeous? You did capture it beautifully. I do hope plans come together for your daughter and children soon and they can settle into a new home.
ReplyDeleteThat is a spectacular photo! Looking forward to hearing how the Lord works things out for your daughter :)
ReplyDeleteI love that little sliver of sunlight! Yes, it will work out for them. The right home hasn't come along yet!
ReplyDeleteSometimes rain is a blessing that we cannot understand until later. God is, indeed, in control. I know your dauhgter must be disappointed, but God will provide, maybe a home that better suits her needs!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely skies. I hope that everything works out for your daugher's family, maybe the next house will be even better.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for more sunshine and less rain. Love to you and your heart for the Lord!!
ReplyDeleteYes, we serve a Mighty God and HE is always there for us. Most of the time, things happen for a reason.
ReplyDeleteI pray for your daughter and her family to have things "fall in to place" and I'm sure they will.:)
Hugs to you, sweet friend. I still think of you when I see a Rooster plate. :))

Hello, my sweet friend. I apologize that I don't get to visit often, but it is work that is using my time. Then when I do stop, I am so tired. I think it is getting time for me to think seriously about retiring.
ReplyDeleteI will keep your family in my prayers. Like you, I am certain that God has an even better plan ready. My nephew posted recently the say that God has three answers: 1. ‘Yes!’ 2. ‘Not yet.’ 3. ‘I have something better in mind.' What an amazing gift we have in Him.
Love to you from me. Please know that you are daily in my heart - even when I am absent.♥
Oh, this is a lovely snap! Even though those stormy skies can look eerie they really are pretty and especially after the rain.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hello my friend! I know things will work out for your daughter and her family..it will be God's plan. Our church lost our pastor a few months ago and we are still looking for a new one, but like your refrigerator magnet, He will provide. Also, CONGRATULATIONS to you and your sweetheart on his retirement! Isn't it wonderful! I love being retired with my husband. By the way I had to make a new blog - it's called Cottage Lamps, Etc. Had to start over!
ReplyDeleteLove & hugs,
Marilyn
Love the sunlight on the trees after the rain. Agree entirely with your words. It's like we are making the arrangements while God is busy making the plans.
ReplyDeleteThinking of your daughter and offering up my prayers. Supporting my daughter and grand children through a very difficult time too.
Oh, bless your heart, my friend. Praying for you all ~ Hugs ~
ReplyDeleteGod is always in control. The scripture of Jeremiah 29:11 is one that is becoming to mean alot to me. God is always in control we have to wait for the plan to unfold. Blessings to you and your family. Sandy
