During the events of our days I ‘sneaked’ away for a chance to be alone. Near the end of our street, in a rural area, is the world’s largest Dahlia farm. Each year about this time they have two weekends of the most spectacular Dahlia Show. I took time to drive down, park my car and wander through the fields and the exhibit hall that was filled with gorgeous arrangements. I took a few minutes to attend a seminar to learn the art of dividing the tubers and how to store them for the winter. The winters are wet here in our part of the world and it’s a risk to leave Dahlias in the ground. I decided I would love to make my yard a Dahlia farm – but I don’t want to do all the hard work it would take to fill my corner with every one I wanted. Soon I will share more of the Dahlia Show with you but, until then, here’s a peek at one of the arrangements on display.
This afternoon my sweetheart and I are taking our little cabin-on-wheels and heading to the Oregon Coast for the weekend. This is a much-needed time away together. Time for rest and quiet walks on the beach, time to think and talk and refocus for the days ahead. I may not be online while I’m gone but if I’m not you can be sure I will tell you all about it when I return!
Dear Adrienne! I feel your heart and although I don't know what's going on I know our mighty God does. I pray you'll feel His presence and I know how you rely and lean on Him. He'll give you strength and He'll get you through this.

ReplyDeleteWow, oh wow, such beautiful dahlias --- and so fortunate for you to live so close to the world's largest dahlia farm!
ReplyDeleteRest and enjoy your time at the beach. How nice that you live close enough by that you can go for awhile and rest.

I love these dahlias, they look like a sunset:>) Have fun with your sweetheart. I know you will and I envy that you have time to get away with him. I'm trying to arrange some time with mine too. I can't wait to hear about your trip.
ReplyDeletePraying that the Lord will give you grace and strength right now.
ReplyDeleteWill be praying for you this weekend friend, that God will give you all that is needed and that the peace that passes all understanding will flow freely!
ReplyDeleteI have a beautiful lavender purple dahlia which has a ton of large flower on the plant. I think I might get a few more plants as this one seems to winter over fine without me digging it up (I just forgot to and it survived!)
bee blessed
