February days in my part of Oregon are usually gray and rainy but this year we’ve had some gorgeous, sunny days. The skies have been blue and there are glimpses of Spring all around my home. The weather changed a bit yesterday bringing rain showers and more were expected today. This morning we were surprised with more sunshine and bits of blue in the sky. There is something special when the sun shines and the promise of Spring fills my heart. I love the sight of raindrops hanging on the barren branches of the Japanese Maple tree at the corner of my home. . .
And on the soft, green needles of the little evergreen tree near my window. . .
But most of all I love the blue of the sky overhead!
Someone else loves the sunshine, too!
He enjoys it so much he doesn’t even mind sharing it with Miss Savannah!
When the sun shines I find myself singing this little song I learned as a child:
Heavenly sunshine, Heavenly sunshine,
Flooding my soul with glory Divine,
Heavenly sunshine, Heavenly sunshine,
Hallelujah! Jesus is mine!
Don’t you think I should sing it everyday, no matter if the sky is gray or blue?
Beautiful pictures Adrienne. I've been so happy to see the sun here and my daffodils have buds on them. And now they say we'll get a couple of inches of snow on Friday. :( It shouldn't last though and hopefully this will be the last of it. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteoh yes, we can feel spring in our hearts long before it arrives here in the northeast!
ReplyDeleteIve been loving this weather we are having lately too. Things are blooming at my new house here. Its going to be fun to see what else pops up over time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Adrienne. Thanks so much for the reminder, Spring will be here soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture, Adrienne ~ Yes, you should sing it everyday. I have often started to write a song about sunshine. And it starts out Sunshine, heavenly sunshine... Eagerly awaiting spring!
ReplyDeleteThat's probably a better song than I sing when I am happy with sunshine. I sing Happy Birthday, even if it isn't your birthday. Love seeing the two friends sharing the sunshine. It has been glorious, even today between the cloud bursts.
ReplyDeleteHello Adrienne, Joey looks so comfortable laying there in the sunshine! Thank you for your words of encouragement about Bailey. She is just now 9 weeks old and is still a handful - but I know as you say, things WILL get better!
ReplyDeleteThank you,
xoxo

Oh yes, I love that song! It's one to sing with gusto!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful raindrop photos --- and how nice you have had some sunshine. We've been enjoying it too, but I hear that rain is on its way.

Love those raindrops photographs! The sunshine ones are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard that song in a long time, now I think I'm going to have it on my mind a long time, it's one of those that sticks with us! A good one to have with you though!
Katherine
Oh do send some of that sunshine my way!
ReplyDeleteIts been so gray and gloomy all winter!
I need a breath of spring to make me smile!

Hi Adrienne! Spring is on the way, isn't it? I chuckled when I saw your animals! My Chloe Dawn does the same thing. She follows the sun as it shines through the windows!
ReplyDeleteLove your new header!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Really neat raindrops pictures! I love where you live. I have always wanted a tiny little farm hidden away in your neighborhood.
