The best things are nearest: breath
in your nostrils, light in your eyes,
flowers at your feet, duties at your
hand, the path of Right just before
you. Do not grasp at the stars,
but do life’s plain common work as
it comes, certain that daily duties
and daily bread are the sweetest
things in life.

ReplyDeleteHi Adrienne
ReplyDeleteToday I am doing exactly that, the little duties at hand! Thanks for the encouragement. I love the music!

I wake every morning thanking God for the day. My days are filled with so many blessings.
ReplyDeleteAdrienne, the words in every post that you write is so warm and full of life. I think you bring to life some truly beautiful thoughts that we need to remind ourselves to cherish our roles and responsibilites in life and perhaps thank God for being there with us, guiding us to do things the right way. Please keep writing more.
ReplyDeleteI can attest to this! Vacation was wonderful, but not as wonderful as coming coming home to my own dear family and my little home:>)
ReplyDeleteHi Adrienne,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Delight of the Heart. Yes, maybe we will run into each other at the library. I am very excited about it.
When I think of you being a hospital chaplain I am reminded of a wonderful workshop I took with a chaplain about 13 years ago on women's spirituality at St. Vincent's. It was definitely a transition time for me and helped to guide me to the next steps in my life.
